SmythOS Weekly Update: Multimedia Chat, Advanced Telemetry, and Enterprise Scaling (January 26 to February 1, 2026)

SmythOS Weekly Update

This week’s update marks a significant leap in both the user experience and the operational depth of the SmythOS platform. We’ve rolled out a more powerful chat interface, a comprehensive telemetry suite for deep system insights, and a new tier designed specifically for enterprise-grade scaling.

New Features

Enhanced Chat Input Field (Multi-line, Files, & Screenshots) We’ve redesigned the chat input to handle more than just text. The new interface supports multi-line entries, direct file attachments, and integrated screenshot capture.

  • How this helps you: You can now share complex context—like documents or visual bugs—directly within the chat, making communication with your agents significantly more efficient.

Dashboard: Telemetry & Logs Page A new centralized hub for real-time and historical monitoring is now live. This page tracks agent performance, system health, and detailed LLM usage stats with granular filters.

  • How this helps you: Gain actionable insights into how your agents are consuming resources and identify performance bottlenecks with high-precision KPIs and graphs.

Key Improvements

Responsive Agent Settings Sidebar Implemented a collapsible tab menu with automatic overflow detection for the settings sidebar.

  • How this helps you: Ensures all settings remain accessible and the interface remains clean, even when working on smaller screens or resized windows.

Behavior-Centric Settings Renaming We renamed the “Description For Model” field to “Behavior” in the Agent Component settings.

  • How this helps you: This clarifies the field’s purpose, ensuring users correctly configure how an agent acts (e.g., searching the web) rather than just providing a metadata description.

Button Border Radius Consistency Fixed inconsistent border radius values on buttons across the application to a uniform 4px.

  • How this helps you: Provides a more cohesive and professional visual experience, ensuring the UI feels polished and predictable.

Standardized Toast Notifications Standardized the styling of success, error, and warning notifications to match the Builder page design.

  • How this helps you: Improves visual coherence and ensures that important system feedback is easily recognizable and legible regardless of which page you are on.

Critical Bug Fixes

Bulk Call Page Table Stability Fixed the flickering “no rows” message and disappearing data rows on the Bulk Call page.

  • How this helps you: Restores your ability to reliably manage and enter data for large-scale operations without UI interruptions.

Telemetry Layout & Stack Trace Overflow Fixed a bug where long error messages would distort the table layout in the Telemetry & Logs view.

  • How this helps you: Maintains a readable monitoring dashboard, allowing you to effectively analyze logs without broken UI elements.

Form Preview Unresponsiveness Resolved an issue where the Form Preview in the Test sidebar would freeze when generating AI input for complex skills.

  • How this helps you: Ensures a smooth testing and development workflow for agents with large, sophisticated skill sets.

Vector Database Delete Modal Cleanup Removed the unnecessary “Cancel” button from the delete modal, leaving only the ‘X’ close button to match design standards.

  • How this helps you: Reduces UI confusion and aligns the deletion process with the rest of the application’s safety patterns.

Chat Export Functionality (500 Error) Resolved a 500 internal server error occurring during conversation exports.

  • How this helps you: Restores your ability to download and save chat histories in JSON, CSV, or TXT formats for external auditing.

Space Invitation & Loading Loops Fixed a 403 permission error and loading loop occurring when reusing an invitation link to a non-organization space.

  • How this helps you: Provides a smoother onboarding experience for team members joining new spaces.

Permission Error Feedback for Data Sources Improved error handling for users without “Data Pool edit” permissions to show specific guidance instead of just “Forbidden.”

  • How this helps you: Reduces frustration by explaining exactly why an action failed and how to resolve the permission restriction.

API Embodiment Feature Toggle Fixed a mismatch where the API embodiment returned a “feature disabled” error even when the toggle was ON.

  • How this helps you: Ensures that when you enable API access for an agent, it works immediately as expected.

Chatbot Send/Stop Button CSS Corrected a bug where the send/stop button held both CSS classes simultaneously.

  • How this helps you: This primarily helps with test automation and QA, ensuring selectors can accurately identify the button’s state.

Data Space Deletion Messaging Replaced generic error toasts with specific permission-related messages when deleting data spaces.

  • How this helps you: Clarifies why a deletion failed, reducing support inquiries and allowing for better user self-service.

Agent Skills Authentication Security Patch Resolved a vulnerability where direct API calls could bypass configured Bearer Token or OAuth authentication.

  • How this helps you: Protects your sensitive operations by ensuring that only authorized users can execute agent skills.

Analytics Tooltip Placement Moved “Image Generation” usage out of the LLM section and into its own dedicated section in the analytics tooltip.

  • How this helps you: Prevents confusion regarding service charges by clearly distinguishing between text and image generation costs.

Voice Embodiment Instruction Adherence Corrected an issue where Voice embodiments were ignoring system prompts and behavioral constraints.

  • How this helps you: Ensures your voice-enabled agents behave exactly as configured, maintaining reliability across all interface types.

Help Sidebar Layout Removed an unnecessary horizontal scrollbar in the Help sidebar caused by layout width issues.

  • How this helps you: Cleans up the help interface, making it easier to read documentation without distracting UI clutter.

Builder Form Preview Indicators Added the “Processing…” spinner to the Builder’s Form Preview to match the deployed version.

  • How this helps you: Provides consistent visual feedback during testing so you know when an agent is actively working on a request.

User Profile Menu on Logs Page Fixed a bug where the profile dropdown menu was non-responsive on the Logs page.

  • How this helps you: Ensures you can always access your account settings or log out, regardless of which dashboard page you are viewing.

Builder Minimap Padding Corrected inconsistent right padding for the minimap and corner buttons in the Builder.

  • How this helps you: Improves the visual alignment and polish of the workspace where you build your agents.

Agent Sharing Redirect Flicker Eliminated the brief flash of the “Switch Teams” page when reusing an agent invitation link.

  • How this helps you: Provides a professional, seamless transition when accessing shared agents.

API Call Edit Modal Sizing Removed unnecessary horizontal scrollbars in the multipart form data edit modal.

  • How this helps you: Streamlines the configuration of complex API calls by making the edit fields easier to navigate.

OpenAPI Component Reference Buttons Added missing “Inputs” and “Global Variables” buttons to the OpenAPI description textarea.

  • How this helps you: Allows for faster configuration by letting you easily insert variable references into your API documentation.

Agent Template Remix Errors Fixed a transient “Could not create agent” error that appeared briefly even during successful template remixing.

  • How this helps you: Removes unnecessary alarm during the agent creation process.

Search Bar Font Consistency Updated the search components bar placeholder to match the application’s standard font style.

  • How this helps you: Maintains UI uniformity and a cohesive aesthetic throughout the Builder interface.

Builder Prettify Stack Overflow Fixed a crash (RangeError) when using the “Prettify” feature on agents with circular component connections.

  • How this helps you: Prevents the application from hanging when you try to organize complex or misconfigured agent workflows.

Embodiment Toggle Enforcement Fixed a bug where certain embodiment types (LLM, API, MCP) remained active in production even when toggled OFF.

  • How this helps you: Gives you total control over how and where your agents are accessible, preventing unintended usage.

Chatbot Loading for Null Auth Agents Resolved a hang during chatbot loading when agents were imported with a “null” authentication method.

  • How this helps you: Ensures that imported agents with “None” security settings remain fully interactive and functional.

In-App Tutorial Visibility Fixed an issue where the homepage tutorial was hidden for users without “Edit Agent List” permissions.

  • How this helps you: Ensures all users receive proper onboarding guidance, regardless of their specific permission level.

Subdomains Page Navigation Resolved the flickering “No Subdomains” state that appeared briefly when navigating to the Subdomains page.

  • How this helps you: Provides a more stable and confident user experience when managing your custom domains.

Grok 4 Search Results Validation Added inline validation for the Grok 4 “max search results” slider to prevent values over 100.

  • How this helps you: Provides immediate feedback on invalid settings so you can correct them before attempting to save.
