SmythOS Weekly Update: AWS Version Progress and Unrestricted Chatbot Deployment (January 19 to January 25, 2026)

SmythOS Weekly Update

This week, our engineering team focused on expanding the infrastructure of SmythOS and refining the deployment flexibility of our chatbot embodiments. We have introduced a new tracking system for our upcoming AWS environment and resolved a critical blocker for users requiring unrestricted domain access for their agents.

New Features

AWS Version Progress Tracking for SmythOS We have implemented a dedicated progress tracking system for the AWS version of SmythOS. This internal and stakeholder-facing dashboard monitors development milestones and deployment status specifically for AWS-based environments.

How this helps you:

  • Enhanced Visibility: Provides clear insight into development milestones for users awaiting AWS-native deployment.
  • Improved Coordination: Streamlines project management to ensure a smoother transition to AWS infrastructure.
  • Predictable Deployments: Allows for better planning by providing real-time updates on the progress of our cloud-specific infrastructure.

Bug Fixes

Chatbot Embodiment CORS Error with Empty Allowed Domains We resolved a bug where chatbot embodiments would fail to load if the “Allowed Domains” field was left empty. Previously, leaving this field blank—intended to allow universal domain access—triggered a CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) error in the browser console, preventing the widget from functioning. The system now correctly permits unrestricted access when no specific domains are listed.

How this helps you:

  • Flexible Deployment: You can now deploy your chatbot widget to any website or testing environment without pre-configuring a whitelist of domains.
  • Smoother User Experience: Eliminates technical blockers and console errors during the initial setup of new embodiments.
  • Reduced Friction: Speeds up the QA and prototyping process by removing the need for constant domain configuration updates.

Try These Updates

  • Deploy Your Chatbot: Test the unrestricted access by clearing the “Allowed Domains” field in your chatbot configuration and embedding the widget on a new site.
  • Monitor Infrastructure Progress: Stay tuned for more updates as we hit new milestones in our AWS SmythOS deployment roadmap.
