August 2025 Monthly Release Notes: Builder Right-Click Menu, In-App Tutorials, and Real-Time Chat Logs

August Release Notes: monthly updates

TL;DR:
In August, SmythOS added a right-click menu to the Builder, launched in-app tutorials on the Dashboard and Builder, introduced real-time task logs in Chat with Agent, enabled .mdx formatting in notes, and improved template discovery with a Recommended view. You also gained safer save and delete workflows, links that preserve your context, unified prompt dismissal across agents, better multilingual input, and a steadier foundation for billing, permissions, logs, and chat. These changes help you build faster, learn faster, and trust the results.

Everything listed below is already live across all SmythOS accounts.

Builder productivity and workflow speed

Right-click menu for faster editing
Right-click in the Builder to copy, paste, delete, export an agent, and search without breaking your flow. The menu adapts to what you selected and disables actions that do not apply. Protected nodes such as the Agent Card are handled safely, so common tasks stay one click away.

Safer save and delete in the component sidebar
The sidebar now uses a clearer save action, a confirmation modal for unsaved changes, and a delete control with a tooltip and consistent hover states. You see what will happen before it happens, which makes accidental loss far less likely.

Canvas and interaction polish
The canvas stays inside the browser viewport instead of overflowing horizontally. Zoom controls highlight correctly on hover. Agent cards keep their alignment even when names wrap to multiple lines, so connection points remain easy to follow.

Faster scanning on the Agents page
Vertical padding on the /agents page has been reduced. Sections are easier to scan and you spend less time scrolling.

Reliable multilingual input
When you compose text with an Input Method Editor, pressing Enter does not submit until composition is complete. Text entry in languages like Japanese behaves as expected.

Shortcuts and status where you expect them
The Help sidebar now shows a scroll indicator so items like Keyboard Shortcuts are easy to find. The Ctrl or Command P shortcut for Canvas Search is documented and focuses correctly. The save indicator remains visible even when the sidebar is expanded.

Learn faster with guided tutorials

Dashboard and Builder tutorials
Step-by-step tutorials walk you through navigation, creating agents, remixing templates, testing, and deployment. You can start, skip, or replay at any time. Animated steps and overlays keep you oriented while you work. Completion is tracked in the background so teams can measure adoption without adding friction.

Stable locators for tours and tests
Related controls now share grouped locators. Components and Integrations use one target. Debugger, Test, and Deploy share another. Tutorials are more resilient and automated checks are easier to maintain as the interface evolves.

Visual consistency with design
Tutorial styling matches the latest design system for type, color, spacing, and button states. The experience reads cleanly across devices and is easier to follow.

See what your agents are doing

Real-time task and thinking logs in Chat with Agent
Watch component-level activity as responses are generated. Function calls and progress appear in real time. This replaces vague spinners with clear signals that help you troubleshoot faster and understand complex flows while they run.

Richer authoring and better starting points

Notes with .mdx formatting
Select .mdx in Advanced Settings and write structured notes with headings, lists, and code blocks. Keep runbooks, demo scripts, and handoffs beside your builds where you need them.

Recommended templates by default
The Templates page now surfaces a Recommended view when you arrive. You can switch to Name and sort A to Z or Z to A, and your choice persists across sessions. You land on strong starting points quickly, then browse your way.

Remix in a new tab
Remix actions open in a new tab on Agents and Templates pages. You keep your place while the remix loads.

Links that preserve your context
Docs and help links open in a new tab from the sidebar, Analytics, chat, and the account deletion flow. You can read guidance without losing the work in front of you.

Prompts that stay dismissed
Dismiss an auto pop-up once and it stays dismissed across all of your agents. Your workspace remains predictable and uncluttered.

Cleaner debug messages
Debug sessions show clearer messages with trimmed component names and proper line breaks. You can follow progress at a glance while you build.

Reliability and trust

Billing and plan accuracy
Credits are billed to the correct account after agent imports. The Cancel Subscription button is back on My Plan for self-serve management. Plan names and usage reflect changes more reliably.

Permissions that match your intent
Inviting an Admin to a project space does not escalate to super admin at the organization level. Embodiment access respects plan limits. Seat counts update as soon as you send an invite so capacity is accurate.

Logs and chat stability
The Logs tab is present again in Agent Settings on staging for reviewing and downloading execution history. Chat retains context correctly in staging. Links from chat open in a new tab. Scrolling is consistent across the page. When agents reach context window limits they respond more gracefully rather than stalling.
