Amber Graner

Head of Community, SmythOS

I’m a community builder at heart with a passion for turning open-source projects into thriving ecosystems. With over a decade of experience spanning Linux distributions, data center hardware, and now AI platforms, I thrive at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and rolling up my sleeves to get things done.

I help connect developers, contributors, end users, and collaborators to the tools, resources, and people they need to innovate and grow. Whether I’m wrangling GitHub issues, organizing a hackathon, or mentoring new contributors, I bring heart, hustle, and a whole lot of humor to the work I do.

Before transitioning into tech, I served proudly in the U.S. Army as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst. I’m a decorated combat veteran of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, an experience that instilled in me resilience, mission-driven leadership, and a lifelong commitment to service.

Outside of tech, you’ll find me at the beach chasing sunrises and sunsets, snapping photos, skydiving, or taking on every curve of the Tail of the Dragon behind the wheel. I cherish every opportunity to spend time and create lasting memories with family and friends, because the best moments in life are the ones we share. And I’ll always cheer for the underdog, because I believe the best communities (and the best stories) start with people who care.
