SmythOS Weekly Update: Local AI Model Support, Smarter Chats, and Polished Builder UI (October 20 – October 26, 2025)

weekly release notes changelog 63

This week’s SmythOS release expands how you build and manage AI inside your workspace. You can now integrate local AI models for offline or private deployments, enjoy smoother chat and Builder experiences, and benefit from several critical bug fixes that improve reliability across authentication, UI, and autosave workflows.

New Features

Add Local Model Support to Vault AI Integration

You can now add and configure local AI models in Vault’s model management interface. Define fields such as Model ID, baseURL, Fallback Model, and API Key. A new setup modal makes local model configuration distinct from cloud-based setup.

How this helps you

  • Integrate self-hosted or offline models to improve data privacy.
  • Maintain full control over your model endpoints without depending on cloud availability.
  • Build agents that work in restricted or air-gapped environments.

Improvements

Message Grouping and Agent Chat Refactoring

Chat interfaces in SmythOS have been refactored for better maintainability and performance. Messages now appear in cleaner groups for improved readability.

How this helps you

  • Follow conversation flow more easily.
  • Enjoy a faster, more stable chat experience.
  • Benefit from a codebase built for long-term scalability.

PostHog Removed from Builder

PostHog analytics has been completely removed from the Builder.

How this helps you

  • Reduced third-party tracking for greater privacy.
  • Slight improvements to Builder performance and loading speed.

Auto-Save Behavior Clarified for Agent Settings

Closing the Agent Settings sidebar via the ‘X’ icon now behaves consistently with the Save button.

How this helps you

  • Avoid losing edits by understanding that changes only save on explicit Save action.
  • Gain predictable, intentional control over configuration changes.

Simplified Namespace Tooltips

Unnecessary or redundant tooltips were removed from the Namespace interface.

How this helps you

  • Focus on helpful information only.
  • Reduce visual clutter and improve clarity when working with large namespaces.

Updated Builder Homepage Invite Modal UI

The invite modal on the Builder homepage now matches SmythOS’s standard design system, aligning with the Share and Onboarding Invite modals.

How this helps you

  • Enjoy a consistent, polished look across all invite-related modals.
  • Reduce confusion when inviting collaborators or sharing access.

Important Bug Fixes

Scroll-to-Bottom Button No Longer Blocks Text Input

Fixed an issue where the scroll-to-bottom button overlapped the multiline text input, preventing cursor placement on certain lines.

How this helps you

  • Compose long messages without layout interference.
  • Type smoothly even during long conversations.

OAuth Dropdown Alignment Restored

The “Edit” option in OAuth dropdown menus is now visually aligned with other menu items.

How this helps you

  • Cleaner, more professional settings menus.
  • Improved visual consistency across components.

Breadcrumb navigation links now display in their intended gray style without underlines.

How this helps you

  • Experience consistent design language throughout Agent Settings.
  • Eliminate visual distractions from default hyperlink styling.

Correct Redirect for Existing Agent Users

Users who encounter invitation errors now return to their dashboard instead of an incorrect shared URL.

How this helps you

  • Avoid “Access Denied” errors.
  • Get back to your workspace faster after failed invitations.

Auto-Save Works for Query Parameter Modal

Auto-save now triggers correctly when editing API Call query parameters.

How this helps you

  • Prevent data loss from missed saves.
  • Keep workflows consistent across all component settings.

Feedback Modal Closes After Submission

After submitting feedback in the Builder, the modal now closes automatically and displays a success message.

How this helps you

  • Enjoy a smoother, faster feedback flow.
  • Avoid manual steps after sending feedback.

OAuth Callback URL Fixed for Chatbot Authentication

Chatbot authentication failures due to mismatched OAuth callback URLs have been resolved.

How this helps you

  • Restore full chatbot and API interaction functionality.
  • Prevent unexpected service disruptions during staging or testing.

Team Switching UI Overlap Resolved

Switching teams via invitation now clears overlapping UI elements properly.

How this helps you

  • Avoid visual confusion during team transitions.
  • Complete team switches without interruption.

Infinite Agent Skill Invocation Loop Fixed

A rare bug causing infinite loops when invoking Agent Skills via chatbot (especially with Gemini models) has been fixed.

How this helps you

  • Prevent unexpected API costs or rate-limit errors.
  • Ensure stable and predictable chatbot behavior.
