This week’s update focuses on clarity, usability, and reliability. We polished the experience across chat, templates, and voice embodiments, while resolving several stability and billing bugs. No new features shipped this sprint, but the refinements make SmythOS smoother and more predictable for you to start building or running agents.Improvements
New templates are pinned to the top
You will see Sales Pipeline, Google Workspace, Marketing Amplifier, and Customer Support at the top of Recommended Templates. This helps you start faster with proven setups.
Disallowed domain errors in Voice Embodiment are now clear
If you try to inject a voice embodiment into a non-permitted domain, you now get a specific message with next steps. You can diagnose and fix without guessing.
Invalid OpenAI API key error is friendly and actionable
When a key is wrong, you get plain language plus guidance on how to correct it. You can finish setup without leaving your flow.
Tooltips and a short description block in Component Settings
Hover to get concise help on fields, and read a brief overview at the top. There is a tiny delay to keep tooltips readable without being distracting. You can also read more details by going to the docs, if needed.
Richer Templates modal
Click a template to see helpful context before you commit. You can pick the right starting point with confidence.
Important bug fixes
“New Chat” starts a truly fresh session
Creating a new chat now works reliably and clears prior memory. You can reset context with one click.
Textarea scroll bars keep working after you reopen the sidebar
You can scroll long content with the mouse wheel again. No more reopen and hope.
Correct limits in Add Data Source for documents
The modal shows the right file size guidance for docs instead of pixel restrictions. You can upload without confusion.
Copy only copies the key you clicked
Copy feedback no longer lights up other identical keys. You avoid mistakes in the Vault.
Task-only executions now bill correctly
Stripe reflects usage for task-only agent runs. Your invoices and analytics stay in sync.
New Agent LLM API keys authenticate in staging
Fresh keys no longer throw incorrect key errors. You can continue building without waiting on credentials.
Ctrl+C works in the builder’s hover window
You can copy selected text with the keyboard again. Your editing muscle memory works.
Thinking indicator shows every sequential skill
During multi-skill chat, you see progress across all steps. You get accurate feedback while an agent works.
Intermittent “New Chat” failure on staging is resolved
Starting a conversation on staging is stable again.
You can delete legacy spaces that were previously blocked
Incorrect default agent ownership no longer traps old spaces. You can clean up environments.
Chat memory resets on new chat or refresh
No lingering context between sessions. This protects privacy and prevents confusing replies.
What you can try right now
- Open Recommended Templates and start with one of the four pinned options.
- Test Voice Embodiment on a permitted domain, then intentionally try a non-permitted one to see the clearer guidance.
- Enter a wrong OpenAI key, then fix it using the in-context steps.
- Create a new chat to confirm the memory reset.
- Add a document data source and verify the correct upload guidance.
- Clean up an old space that was previously blocked from deletion.
