SmythOS Weekly Update: Pinned Agents, Smarter Debugging, and Multi-Model Defaults (September 1–7, 2025)

sprint-56-sept-1-7-2025

This week’s release helps you find your agents faster, debug with fewer steps, and start building with top models from day one. You will also see targeted fixes that reduce friction in settings, chat, and sharing.

New Features

A/B test for Debug placement in Test as Form

We are running an A/B test that compares left versus right placement of the debugging UI in Test as Form. The goal is to increase engagement by mirroring the high-performing Skill sidebar pattern. You get a layout that feels natural while we measure what works best.

Pin agents on the homepage

You can pin and unpin agents to keep favorites at the top of your homepage list regardless of sort order. If you manage many agents, your go-tos are now one tap away.

Default ChatGPT and Gemini agents

ChatGPT and Gemini join Claude as default agents in every workspace. You can compare models immediately, prototype faster, and show multi-model value without any setup.

Improvements

One-click from Try Debugging to a prefilled debug run

Clicking Try Debugging in Test as Form now opens the Debug Run modal for the same skill with form values prefilled when available. Telemetry tracks openings so we can continue refining the flow. Fewer clicks and better context mean faster iteration.

Simpler notes with a formatting mode

The note component has a Formatting Mode dropdown for plaintext or markdown. The field label is now Content and the advanced toggle is gone. You choose the format and write without extra steps.

The Download SRE button points to the current repository in both production and staging. The Analytics page now links to the correct documentation. You land on the right resources the first time.

Updated quick tutorial video

The Help section now features an updated quick tutorial video. New teammates can ramp up quickly with current guidance.

Important Bug Fixes

  • Confirmation prompts on sidebars only appear when there are unsaved changes. The Save and Close tooltip was removed for a cleaner exit.
  • Debug execution stalls are resolved so component runs in debug mode produce visible output and progress instead of hanging.
  • Staging chatbot debug attach works as expected so you can step through executions from chat during testing.
  • Server-side avatar generation latency no longer blocks agent creation. New agents appear promptly and the Builder loads faster.
  • Chat Mode for deployed agents in production is stable again. The prompt box responds consistently so live agents are usable.
  • Global Variables Add Key jump is fixed. Clicking Add Key opens the inline editor without scrolling you to the top.
  • Default value chips in Agent Skill appear in Compact mode for a consistent read of inputs.

Try these updates

  • Pin your most used agents on the homepage to keep them at the top.
  • Open any skill and click Try Debugging to launch a prefilled debug run.
  • Create a note and switch the Formatting Mode between plaintext and markdown.
  • Compare the default ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude agents to choose the right fit for your workflow.
  • In production, test Chat Mode on a deployed agent to confirm responsive input.
  • From the Builder, use Share Agent to invite collaborators.
